Men (Egyptian: Mn) is one of the most mysterious of all ancient games. Approximately 5,000 years old, it was invented in Egypt and played at roughly the same time as Mehen and Senet.  Ours is the only known reconstruction of the game in modern times.  Games scholar Zachary Horton reconstructed a set of rules and designed the game utilizing archaeological and sculptural evidence.

Set sail with trading ships across the Mediterranean, wagering on when they will return laden with cargo.  Of course, you won't merely wait passively, but will aid or hinder the fleet on its journey in order to make your predictions come true!  For 2-4 players, this makes a great family game.

We hand-make each Men game from oak (board), maple (throwing sticks and playing pieces), and black walnut (playing pieces) hardwoods.  The three-dimensional board, modeled after archaeological copies, has both spaces for laying pieces flat and grooves for slotting them upright, representing different sailing conditions.  Men comes in a custom box designed to match The Ur Variations in size and design, a rulebook, a set of handmade throwing sticks, and a copyable Leger sheet used during play (also downloadable from our site).

Men is the second game in our Ancient Games trilogy, which consists of Mehen, Men, and The Ur Variations.  Each copy is numbered.  Only 35 copies will ever be made of this limited edition game.
