This is a special version of our high-end medium format slides and digital viewer. It differs from our Immersive viewer in that it uses 75mm lenses instead of 60mm, which provides the user with slightly more distance between themselves and the image. This is closer to a more classical slide viewing experience, but utilizing the highest qualities lenses (and backlighting) ever put into a stereo viewer. The lenses are very large (2 inches in diameter), accommodating a wide range of interpupillary distances without requiring adjustment. Like our 60mm Immersive viewer, it features independent eye focus and comes in three versions: a slides-only version, a slides+digital, and a digital-only version. It is slightly larger and heavier than the Immersive viewer, and more expensive because its larger lenses are more expensive (though the same outstanding quality) and it is more difficult to build due to its internal mechanisms. Unlike the Immersive viewer, it only accepts the slimmer Xperia 1 series phones for its digital functionality; not the Xperia Z5 Premium.
The slides option can take slides up to medium format size and includes a large, high-end backlight that is extremely bright, has a CRI (color rendering index) greater than 95 for vibrant, accurate colors, has two diffusion plates for the most even and smooth possible backlight, and runs off of USB (plugged into an adapter, a power bank, or a device), so no more batteries to deal with. It has a universal carrier system with carriers for many different slide mounts (and we can make new ones if desired).
The digital option works with Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and Xperia 1 series phones with 4K screens for the highest quality digital stereo viewing possible today (and in the future). The phone (which is not included) can be charged and connected to accessories without removing it from the viewer. This viewer can be used to view still images as well as videos as significantly higher quality than with a VR headset. New phone trays can be designed for future compatibility.
The digital-only version is lighter and more compact than the dual version. The slides-only version is slightly more streamlined in both appearance and use.
